Yaniv Attar’s RSO Debut
Opening night celebrates Yaniv Attar’s first concert as Music Director! The program opens with “Frenergy”, a short, energetic overture by Canadian composer John Estacio. There is a real sense of celebration in this fantastic overture, whose title combines the words Frantic and Energy, setting the mood for the concert and for the new chapter of the RSO. Joining the orchestra for Beethoven’s beloved Triple Concerto are three terrific soloists, one of whom is our own concertmaster, Michèle Lekas. The program culminates with Mahler’s monumental Symphony No. 1, nicknamed Titan! |
Rockford, IL –For the first time in nearly 35 years, a new Music Director will take the podium and lift his baton to conduct The Rockford Symphony Orchestra. Yaniv Attar will make his debut as the RSO’s Maestro on September 9 at 7:30PM at the Coronado Performing Arts Center. He will be ushering in the 90th Anniversary Season which promises to be an opening night not to be missed.

The other guest soloists are cellist Amir Eldan and pianist Jessica Choe. The program culminates with Mahler’s monumental Symphony No. 1, nicknamed Titan!
