Make a gift for grandparents at Discovery Center
ROCKFORD, IL –Grandparents can be a huge part of any child’s life. On Saturday, September 9, Discovery Center Museum will be helping children celebrate their grandparents by providing a variety of special projects children can create as gifts to commemorate National Grandparents Day (Sunday, September 10).
10:00 am – Noon
Children can design a Grandparents Day card in our Art Studio with help from Mary Kay Morrison, author of Legacy of Laughter: A Grandparent Guide & Playbook.
10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Children can create flower handprint bouquets, bracelets, and even “build their own grandparent” in the Art Studio! Children can also create a custom picture frame in our Makerspace.
All projects are free with museum admission. Museum admission is $10/person and free to Members and children ages 1 and younger.
