FREE WALKING TOURS OF RIVERFRONT PUBLIC SCULPTURE — Enjoy viewing an eclectic, unique collection of public sculpture while getting the benefits of refreshing outdoor exercise by taking a free guided walking sculpture tour.
Rockford Park District’s award-winning two-mile scenic walk and organized tour along the Rock River Recreation Path is held once a month June-October,2023, on select dates (weather permitting) from 10:30am until noon, departing from the Nicholas Conservatory lobby, 1354 N. Second St., Rockford, IL. The tour features 16 sculptures ,some of which are works by local artists, and many of which were donated to the Park District.

Scheduled sculpture tour dates for 2023 are Thursdays, June 8, July 13, August 10, September 14, and October 12. The tours are intended to connect people with the art along the Rock River Recreation Path ,and the Rockford Park District, in cooperation with Rockford Art Museum and the Art in the Parks Committee, is committed to providing high quality public art for the community to enjoy, contemplate, and explore. Walking shoes and a bottle of water are recommended, and participants should dress for the weather.
