"ARTISTS IN SCHOOLS GRANT Programs"

For all Public & Private Schools in

Winnebago, Boone, Ogle, DeKalb Counties

 

The Rockford Area Arts Council offers schools both private and public, mini arts grants to increase the quality and quantity of arts experiences for students. These grants are for artists to enhance curriculum, educational arts field trips and staff development.

These grants are 50/50 Matching Grants on a first come first serve basis. Maximum grant request is $500.

Allowable grant costs include: artist fees, supplies for project, student admission fees for field trips, and bus transportation.

Schools may select any artist living in Winnebago, Boone, DeKalb or Ogle Counties. Field trips must be educational and arts related. If recommendations are needed, please contact the Arts Councils Education Director: Sharon Nesbit-Davis.

How to Apply:

STEP ONE:

Contact Education/ Community Engagement Director, Sharon Nesbit-Davis to discuss project and determine eligibility and available funding.

STEP TWO:

Plan project with artist/or arts facility and complete either a "School Grant or Arts Field Trip grant request.

STEP THREE: Submit grant request at least three weeks before project start date. Grant activities must occur during 2011-12 school year.
