Mike was born in Sycamore Illinois in 1976. He was raised in Genoa Illinois until age sixteen when he moved to Belvidere Illinois where he lives now. Mike started working with metal in his garage at age seventeen. At age eighteen he got his first job with a local metal fabricator and although his employer has changed, his profession has not.
In 2003, Mike saw a fountain in a local store and thought he could build a fountain out of stainless steel and started soon after. In 2006 he came up with the idea of building stainless steel fountains as a hobby. Now his goal is to expand into sculpture as well. Mike has also expanded his love of metals to include copper. In the future he would like to incorporate glass into his art.
